Very Common Brush set for the Miller Big Blue 300.

Always read and follow the safety portion of the Miller Manual for your machine. Work should be carried out by someone with experience in electrical and mechanical installations.

Removal of  Brush Set:

• Remove lower front Conver and there should be two small phillip head screws inside on the face of the generator
• It is best to use a stubby screwdriver or even better a small 1/4" nutdriver screw driver on a small ratchet.
• Now Remove the two 1/2" bolts holding the top control panel in place. It should hinge down when done. Inside you will see the two wires coming up from the brushes.
• Pull the spade quick connects apart to remove the brushes. They are oposite connections so no need to mark them.
• Now would be a good time to clean the commutator with the proper stone.

Now it is time to put in the new brushes:

• When installing new brushes, chase the two phillips screws throught the holes to make it easier to install.
• Put in place and pull down on the brush set to seat it in place.
• Put the lower screw into place by hand to start it, and then snug it up.
• Place the other screw in the same way and then snug them both up. 
• Remember the piece is plastic so be careful not to strip the threads.
• Re-Assemble and test.
• You should have 120 volt power at the receptacles and OCV voltage at the outlet studs when in stick electrode mode.
